CURIS System Announces Publication of ‘Disinfection of Viruses’ Book: ‘Hybrid Hydrogen Peroxide Technology for Viral Disinfection’ Chapter
Release Summary: This chapter provides an overview of disinfection systems and encouragement that innovations, like HHP technology, will keep pace with future viral threats.
OVIEDO, FL - CURIS System, a leader in the research and development of contamination control products and services for life sciences, healthcare, and public sectors is pleased to announce its contribution to the publication of the book “Disinfection of Viruses, edited by Dr. Raymond Nims and Dr. M. Khalid Ijaz. The chapter coauthored by CURIS System's senior scientist and John R. Henneman of Kansas State University Biosecurity Research Institute was released to an international audience.
At a time when most every person around the globe daily utters the word VIRUS, we recognize the necessity for effective biodecontamination in virtually every setting. As the need for heightened biodecontamination continues globally, so does the need for advanced technology to mitigate risks. This is especially true in the life science industry, where research and pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities must maintain sterile or near-sterile environments.
Contributing the chapter “Hybrid Hydrogen Peroxide for Viral Disinfection” enables CURIS to educate a broad audience on the effectiveness of gaseous biodecontamination. The chapter CURIS was invited to coauthor covers various gaseous technologies and follows them from inception to deployment: It covers the traditional high-consequence technologies and proves a need and desire for better solutions without compromising efficacy. Utilizing the latest in biodecontamination, Hybrid Hydrogen Peroxide (HHP) technology could offer an efficacious and better alternative to quickly make spaces and equipment clean and ready for reuse.
“As research continues to venture into unknown territories, awareness of potential viral threats has increased as well. Current adoption into the life sciences field is robust and underscores the value that can be added through implementing a targeted yet versatile system for facility biodecontamination. This chapter provides encouragement that innovations in disinfection technology, such as the HHP system, continue to keep pace with these viral threats with fact-based, science-driven results,” stated Frances Grinstead, CEO, CURIS System.
This chapter provides the reader a look inside various studies on the HHP system, which, among others, examined virological work performed in Biosafety Level 3 facilities and good laboratory practice (GLP) data performed by EPA-approved laboratories. The authors’ goal is to provide “…a deeper understanding of essential components and considerations when implementing hydrogen peroxide systems for viral biodecontamination,” and overall, they conclude, “Studies performed with this [HHP] technology demonstrate high level pathogen inactivation across a variety of tested pathogens and substrates,” stated CURIS Senior Research Biologist Meaghan Hislop.
According to Frances Grinstead, CEO of CURIS System, “The commitment of our Research and Development Department at CURIS has time and again worked with customers to bring to market solutions for the challenges they face in real-world situations and this chapter highlights many of their industry leading accomplishments to date.”
